Q131 – It’s A Roo – Quilt

Good Day,

Yes the kid gets a 2nd quilt, It’s A Roo. Really, really proud grandpa.

This is Andy’s and my 131st completed quilt… The new quilt is It's A Roo.

Do you know how hard it is to find fabric with just a Roo of A.A. Milne’s Kanga and Roo?

Roo is a nickname given to new grandson by his elder brother.

We found the Roo-appropriate fabric at Spoonflower -

1743657Kangaroopolka designed by MrsHervi;

# 2967644Pellerina Blue designed by MrsHervi; and

# 3373927Polka Dots Pale Turquoise by Andrea Lauren.

This was our first time using Spoonflower produced fabric. Would we do it again? Most definitely!

All-things-being-equal the Spoonflower produced fabric had to be pre-washed in order to eliminate the new and stiff feeling.

The completed and final size is approximately 40” wide and 45” long.

Q130 – Roo Royale – Quilt

Good Day,

It is with great announcement that Andy and I can introduce to you our 130th completed quilt…and of course this one goes to a very special wee lad, our Grandson, who most recently made his entrance into this world.

Roo Royale, JSAB 2015

The new quilt is Roo Royale.

Like his older brother’s quilt, Blue Chambray, the primary fabrics are “Ooh La La” by Bunny Hill Designs for Moda Fabrics. We created, inspired by a design by Derek R, a parallelogram pattern with a grey fabric base.

The completed and final size is 38” wide and 50” long.
