Q42 – Quilt - Patience

Afternoon,

More than 190,000 quilting stitches later, our new quilt, Patience is completed. This is the second completed quilt in our latest series.

As you can see the fabrics are very similar to our C&N quilt. The primary and outstanding difference in the construction of Patience from C&N is the parallel quilting lines that are ¼” (0.64 cms) apart. Patience's dimensions are Width – 62” (158 cms) and Length – 80” (203 cms). On a quick calculation that means that there are approximately 320 horizontal lines of quilting and each line is made up of about 594 stitches. All these stitches make for a relatively trim and smart quilt.

Here are two more views of the full quilt.

Our thanks again to Sushma Patel-Bould for allowing us the opportunity for working and adapting her original design. As we mentioned in our previous Quip, Sushma’s quilt Bauhaus won the Quilt National 2003 Juror’s Award of Merit. You can see Sushma’s Bauhaus Wall Hanging at her website Sushma Quilts.

And here are some close ups –

To see previously posted quilts, there is a visual grid presentation at the bottom of my Blog page. Move your cursor over any mini-picture found there and click to see an enlargement. Move your cursor to the "Q#" link to see the quilt's details. If the quilt’s title is highlighted in yellow, it has found a home in a collection and is no longer available.

Please let me know if anything on the Blogsite does to properly work, or do what it says it is supposed to do. I’m always working to make sure there is an ease of use.

If you are interested, and would like some more information of the available quilts, regarding costs, shipping, and insurance, please get in touch with me at our Quilts SB Etsy shop.

Next quilts on the way: A Mazed; Altered Logs I; Altered Logs II; V-Bricks; and Indian Summer Orange Peel. Stay tuned.
