Q34 – Quilt – Renaissance Three

Afternoon,

Just completed, Renaissance Three, the third quilt of our Renaissance Series… Matched with Renaissance One and Renaissance Two, Renaissance Three completes the trio of quilts that are produced with squares and rectangles in tones and shades that complement each other. These pictures are all taken in natural light.

Dimensions: Length - 76" (193 cms); Width – 64" (130 cms). The size of this quilt is small twin and may be an accent quilt. All our quilts are 100% cotton fabric and batting. As always the images may take on shades of their own dependent on the source of lighting.

If you follow the blinking Quilts by esSBee link, in the left-hand column, to the bottom of this Blog you may be able to see and compare all Renaissance Quilts side-by-side.

To see previously posted quilts, type any Q# coding in the search box at the upper right-hand on my Blog page; to date Q1 through Q33. I have also created a new visual presentation at the bottom of my blog page. Move your cursor over any mini-picture found there and click to see an enlargement. Move your cursor to the "Q#" link to see the quilt's details. If the quilts title is highlighted in yellow, it has found a home in a collection.

Q31 – Quilt – Pink, Sister Number 2

Evening,

With the temporary crown, see My Tangent earlier today, I made ham and broccoli and carrot fried rice for supper. It was easier on the old dentures, not having to worry too much of dislodging the temporary and then rushing on down to my dentist to have replaced.

Quilt number 2 of the Sisters series is Pink, Sister Number 2. Again the design is our original design and the fabric is available through Three Sisters. This little quilt would make a perfect complement to the already posted Yellow, Sister Number 1. (See Q30.)

Dimensions: Length - 68" (173 cms); Width – 51" (130 cms). The size of this quilt is small lap and accent quilt. All our quilts are 100% cotton fabric and batting. Please note, that the colors reflected on the images differ from where I took the pictures of the quilt.

To see previously posted quilts, type any Q# coding in the search box at the upper right-hand on my Blog page; to date Q1 through Q31. I have also created a new visual presentation at the bottom of my blog page. Move your cursor over any mini-picture found there and click to see an enlargement. Move your cursor to the "Q#" link to see the quilt's details. If the quilts title is highlighted in yellow, it has found a home in a collection.

Stay-tuned for Q32.

Fried rice was not too bad. There’s always left over rice in the fridge.

Q29 – Quilt - Twist

Early Morning,

Twist is a patchwork quilt we found of a pattern from the book Best-Loved Quilt Patterns published in 1991 by Oxmoor House, Inc. Alabama. As described it is also known by many other names including Twisted Rope and Plaited Block. It is created with repetition of a simple two-block set: an octagon block and a block created with a square and rectangles.

Our choice of the close shade of blue fabric colors mutes the effect of the twisted strips. The counter-balanced light yellow fabric highlights the octagon centers and subsequently lends to a feeling of “bordered plates”. The backing is a light, cloud-effect blue.

This quilt is a large queen-size quilt and belongs to a private collection.

To see previously posted quilts, type any Q# coding in the search box at the upper left-hand on my Blog page; to date Q1 through Q29. I have also created a new visual presentation at the bottom of my blog page. Move your cursor over any mini-picture found there and click to see an enlargement. Q27 – Quilt – Simple Flakes

Morning,

We decided to make a very simple quilt that would enhance the capability of electronic embroidery. As you can see from the images the idea has a peaceful ambiance. Blocks were embroidered and then equal size blocks of the background fabric were pieced together to create the quilt. The backing of the quilt is the same blue as that of the binding.

And this quilt did find a home.
