My Quip – IQFOI 2013 Quilter’s Village Map, Galway, Ireland
Good Day,
Just received the 2013 International Quilt Festival of Ireland Quilter’s Village Map in Galway.
Thank you Jim West.
I have attempted to mark out the locations on the NUI Galway Campus where our three quilts will be on exhibit with all the other amazing quilts next weekend, June 7-9.

My Quip – Three to International Quilt Festival of Ireland – Galway, Ireland
Good Day,Well Andy and I just received notice that three of our quilts have been entered for display at the International Quilt Festival of Ireland 2013… in Galway, Ireland. The Festival will be held June 7 to 9 at the National University of Ireland.
Our quilts and wall hangings that will be on display in the corresponding categories.

A Tribute – MEM911 – Wall Hanging – Quilt
Good Day,
Our Wall Hanging – Quilt MEM911, is Andy's and my small token of remembrance.
We completed MEM911 last year in commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 Tragedy. Our Quilt and Wall Hanging is not intended to be a reproduction of the tragedy and horrific devastation, but a quiet memory. A quiet and ethereal portrayal of an event that has been etched in the minds of millions; an incident that should never be forgotten.
Our Wall Hanging – Quilt MEM911, is Andy's and my small token of remembrance.
We completed MEM911 last year in commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 Tragedy. Our Quilt and Wall Hanging is not intended to be a reproduction of the tragedy and horrific devastation, but a quiet memory. A quiet and ethereal portrayal of an event that has been etched in the minds of millions; an incident that should never be forgotten.
The abstract and graphic representation of the Cathedral Window is a focus of our reflection. This is a generation of rising shades of fabrics in the clouds underlining the glass and metal of the Twin Towers. The beige fabric is the structure and strength that hold together all these thoughts and memories. The patterned squares in the horizontal cuts of the colored fabrics represent the windows and the many lives lost and those affected.
If you look closely at the quilting you will see an impression in thread of the Twin Towers. We wanted the memory to be engraved in both the clouds and the patterns of the fabrics.
The dimensions of MEM911 are: Width – 39” (99 cms); Length – 48” (122 cms). The 100% cotton check fabrics were designed by Michael Miller. The separating grey cloud fabric is a product of Timeless Treasures Fabrics. Our quilting includes three stylings; horizontal lines in each of the rectangles and squares; an accented quilting of highlighting the clouds; and vertical and horizontal lines representing the Twin Towers.

MEM911 wil be on display with our special exhibit "Evolution" at MQX West 2011 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon, October 18-20.

My Quip - What's Up With Our Quilts?
Good Day,Andy and I sat down and attempted to brain-storm about our new quilt projects. We've sort of put them in a scheduled order... but we know that this schedule may change from time to time. (And don't well-meaning to-do lists always seem to change?)
And here goes:
1. Sleeve and label for Tetrishead.
2. Sleeve and label for MEM911.
3. Ship NC the coast to its new home in North Carolina.
4. Complete design and construct top for Dogwood Steps. Dogwood and offsetting cream-colored fabrics has been received.
5. Quilt, bind, and label Mondrian I. Top has been completed.
6. Prepare quilt packages for Jacqueline de Jonge class.
7. Decide on Civil War Quilt patterns. Re-production fabric has been received.
8. Design for one Baby quilt has been decided. Prime fabric has been received.
9. New (second) Baby quilt to be designed.
10. Mauk II top under construction.
11. Design first Paul Klee inspired quilt.
12. Design third Windows Cathedral Series - Winchester Cathedral wall hanging quilt.
