My Quip – Twisted Basket Quilt

Good Morning,

It’s time for the morning update.

And now in the inimitable words of Monty Python… “And now for something completely different.” I’ve always wanted to say that for no real apparent reason, except we have begun a new quilt, our Twisted Basket.

According to Andy this new quilt appears to have more sewing in the sashing than in the actual quilt block itself. Twisted Basket is our adaptation of Kimberly Einmo’s quilt design Braided Links… The fabrics are predominantly from a Moda design line entitled Dream On by Urban Chiks, and presented in a Jelly Roll. The sashing is constructed of two additional complementary fabrics.

Here is a quick peek at the beginnings of the construction of Twisted Basket. (Right now it looks like it is an Easter Basket in shambles…)

The top construction, without border or binding, will approximate: Length – 72” (183 cms); Width – 62” (158 cms). Twisted Basket may be completed as a lap, full, or queen size quilt.

We are always looking for new designs and quilt challenges. If you are interested in commissioning your quilt please contact us.

Check out our currently available quilts at Quilts SB Etsy.

To see previously posted quilts, there is a visual Grid presentation at the bottom of the Quilts SB page. Move your cursor over any mini-picture found there and click to see an enlargement. Move your cursor to the "Q#" link to see the quilt's details. If the quilt’s title is highlighted in yellow or in red, it has found a home in a collection and is no longer available.

If you are interested, and would like some more information of available quilts, regarding costs, shipping, and insurance, please check our Quilts SB Etsy shop.

If you have any questions and/or comments please feel free to get in touch with me via email.

Enjoy,

Jim and Andy
