Q129 – Moon Over Bayshore – Quilt

Good Day,

Andy and I would like to introduce our newly completed queen size quilt and bedspread, Moon Over Bayshore.  This is our 129th quilt.

Here is the original draft of our design.

We began the thoughts and workings about a year ago when we were approached to make a custom bed spread/quilt. And of course it had to include the full moon.

The final draft design, the colors, and the choice of Sew Batik fabrics were made and finalized this past February. The construction of the Moon Over Bayshore is a pieced design on our drawing transposed on to strips of muslin. This quilt is composed of 4 layers: the top; muslin; batting; and the backing.

The dimensions of Moon Over Bayshore are: Width – 80” (203 cms) and Length – 90 ½” (230 cms).

The design of the quilting is a dense configuration to highlight the moon, the night sky, the girders, the buildings, and the water reflections. All quilting was done on our Longarm and our Domestic machines. The thread is YLI brand.
